Reflections
I wanted to show how we are continually surrounded by reflective surfaces which break up and beam back everything around us from all directions.
These thoughts come to me especially when I am driving. So many windows with embedded reflections, so many mirrors, so much metal and glass and plastic all around reflecting things and lights from all over, and that's just in or on one car! Once you start to notice that, then other cars, buildings, EVERYTHING outside the car adds to the reflected visual noise. Hell, even the lenses to my glasses capture reflections, yet I rarely notice my own eyes staring back at me.
It is a wonder not just that there aren't more car accidents, but that more of us don't go completely insane from visual overload.
"Reflections" acrylic collage on canvas. 18" by 24" $3000, including shipping in the contiguous US and Canada.
